We would like to thank all of you for your positive thoughts, prayers and energy. As we refer to him, Popo, has been aware of our presence and is making gradual but definitive progress. He has a very long road ahead of him, but those of you that know him know he is a fighter. Popo is the toughest man we know!
We will continue to update you all through this blog. Please share any memories or thoughts about Popo so we all can share and enjoy them. Please keep him in your thougths and prayers.

I have known Joe for 47 years since he started dating my sister, Cindi when she was 15 and he was 16,(don't do the math!) and that was, well, let's say .... just yesterday! Joe is strong and consistent and a fighter. He has an extraordinary wife and family and is surrounded by love. Miracles are happening. He and his family are continually in my thoughts and prayers.
love, Bev King, also known as Aunt Bev, and Great Aunt Bev

I have known Popo for 12 years now, I am married to his oldest son Scott. He has touched my heart and has welcomed me into his family, I truly feel like one of his daughters. He is a very kind and strong man. My husband Scott has always admired his dad's strength, and because of this we know he will fight this thing! I am looking forward to visiting "Popo Krispie" soon(that is a whole other story to be shared at a later date). You are in our prayers we love you so much, Pam, Bryce, and Graham!

Joe..Joey to me..was my dear friend fifty plus years ago in High School and I only found him again a few months ago. I am devasteted by this news but know he will come thru with flying colors. I will check in and when he is ready for cards and good wishes, will pass the word on to other s from GHS.
Meanwhile, stay strong and get some rest...he will need you to lean on for awhile just as you have leaned on him in the past.

We were shocked by this news as Conrad had just talked to Joe last week at the Club. You all are in our thoughts and prayers, and we are wishing Joe a complete and speedy recovery.

as a paramedic, more often than not i need to deal with very stressful situations like Joey's.. Knowing the physical and emotional stessors that i have been through, I would never wish any of them upon anyone, especially such an amazing man as Joey is, and the absolute wonderful family that he has. Bethany and I will keep Joey in our thoughts everyday as we pray for him.. We know he will fight, and stay strong. Cindi, and family, are thoughts and prayers are also with you, stay strong, keep your heads up, and have patience. If you need us for anything please don't hesitate to call. With much love, Jason, Bethany, Molson, Oscar, and Freckles

We went to church this Sunday and sent many prayers for Joe. We all wake up each day thinking of Joe and his sparkling eyes and wonderful smile. With the strength of his amazing family and wife Cindi, we know that he will persevere. We're here standing by if there's anything you ever need. We know it will be a long journey. Much love, Jeri, Gary & Family - P.S. Gary is waiting to share more jokes and an "ugly" cigar with Joe, so he better get well soon! :)

Scott: My family sends our thoughts and prayers. We are adding your dad to a prayer list at our church. I never had the opportunity to meet your dad however after reading much of this blog I can tell he is as great a person/friend as you are when we were in highschool. Take care....

We want you all to know that Joe and your entire family are in our thoughts and prayers. We have added Joe to the prayer chain at our church and there are many people praying for his full and swift recovery. Both Patty and I have known Joe for over twenty years and have many fond memories of him. Whenever there was a job to be done, Joe was always right there in the thick of it with us, [usually working harder than the rest of us :)], supporting us all the way. For myself, it is Joe's example of how to be a loving, dedicated father and husband that I have attempted to emulate in my own life. He truly is an incredible man, and I have no doubt that his love for all of you and the amazing love that you have for him that will carry him through this difficult time. Please let Joe know that we love him and are praying for him constantly. When he is well enough to receive visitors, we would be honored to drive up to Albany to see him. God bless you all, the prayers of many people are radiating your way.

I really do not know what to say. But once I get rolling I'm sure it will be lengthy. I would first like to thank everyone for their response to lil' Joe and our family. The amount of energy being directed towards him must be incredible. I KNOW it is beneficial to him.THANK YOU. May you all receive the same in return. I feel so lucky to have lil' Joe as an example for me about how to walk the Earth. He always has a way to teach me things without saying anything or much. It takes me a dissertation to get my point across. This man has countless positve qualities(with only a few less endearing ones) sorry just being realistic. But to methe most important ones are impeccable integrity, unconditional love, consistentcy, loyalty, dependability, and a love for life and PEOPLE. Lil Joe has the "magic" when it comes to people and like his mother most people feel good around him. That is great in today's world. If he likes you he will do anything for you, anything. And that is admirable. Since we all know how hard it is too find time to help others, or be their for them with today's pace. To spend quality time with people lil' joe likes/loves, I truly feel is what it is all about for my DAD. Well if you read through all this crap you may be a Saint, at the very least quite patient. MANY MANY THANKS. Robb Ferraro

I first would like to say that I have prayed for Joe's health and streagth to return many times since I talked to Robb. When I first found out about this, I was shocked that something like this could happen to someone so caring, strong, and kind hearted. I know Joe and the Ferraro family because Robb and I grew up together. I spent many weekends with the Ferraros and I have to tell that there are no other Familys out there identical and I mean that in the best of ways. Joe being so confidently in charge, and at the same time so proud of his entire family. I believe that Joe's inner streangth comes not only from himself but from all of you.(His family) There are many fond memories of Joe kicking my but in pool but also being nice about it. He is just a wonderful man and a great father. and I hope he can pull this thing through. If anyone in the world can I would have to say it would deffinalty be him. I will continue to pray for him. Todd stop ranking on me because I spelled so many words wrong. just kidding.Robb I'll call soon. Jon
