Day 70! He is out!

Joe has escaped. He is out of Albany Med and in to a rehab facility. We are sorry for the abrupt notice, but like many of the things that have happened at the hospital this was a very quick, short notice event.

An evaluator came from Sunnyview Rehab Facility in Schenectady N.Y.(about 25 min NW from Albany) to ask Dad some questions and check to see if he would be a good candidate for Sunnyview. Sunnyview is a very intensive and very good rehab facility. Mom and Dad were not sure if he was ready to leave the hospital and start a very intense form of rehab.

The evaluator made some calls and came back with the news that he was a good candidate and there was a bed open. So, with a cloud of dust and papers flying, Dad was put in an ambulance and moved to Sunnyview.

Sunnyview is very nice and Dad seems to be happy about the move.

He is starting down a very long, tough road, but he is speeding down that road with no hesitation. It is very exciting for all of us that he is out of the hospital and on to the next stage in his recovery.

I am sure my mother will give you all a much more detailed account of everything as soon as she gets the chance. For

Joe and Cindy,
you have continued to be in our prayers throughout this ordeal. I keep bugging Smokey (White) to post a message, but you know how that goes. This is Cathy, his wife. Smokey is Scott's boss. I am posting now because I worked for a number of years in rehab - I'm an OT. Currently working in pediatrics, but I know what kind of road you are facing. You have the spirit, faith, and humor that will help the process. I know we are too far to do much, but we do pray and you are included daily. Let us knoe if there is anything else.
Blessings,
Smokey and Cathy White

Great news that you are on to the next phase. This, too, will most likely be very interesting to say the least. You all have the strength to make it through. Hopefully, soon it will all be a memory.

Joe & Cindi,
Glad to hear that you are in Sunnyview Rehab. It will be tough, but so are you. I will continue to pray for you, Cindi, and your devoted family. I am not surprised to see how committed your children are to both of you. You are great parental examples...proving the old adage;"The acorn does not fall far from the tree". Take care and stay well. We are all thinking positive thoughts for both of you. God Bless. Dan Guerrieri

Joe, Cindi and family,
We were so thrilled to hear that Joe has been transferred to Sunnyview. We know what you mean by the move is such a whirl wind.
Please know that we think of you everyday, and your always in our prayers. Cindi, mom looks forward to seeing you soon. We are still awaiting word as to when Todd will be starting his outpatient therapy there at Sunnyview. We'll keep you posted. But for now a little tip in case you haven't figured it out. The food over at the Ellis hospital cafeteria is really very good and inexpensive. You can get over there through a tunnel that connects both hospitals. you may already know all of this already.
you know how we are. It's all about the food. love to all,
Chrissy and the whole Kitsock family. God bless
